Noriko was born to parents she never knew. They had fled the coming attack of the Garleans, and made the selfish choice to leave their infant child behind. But, before the conquerers razed the town, a shinobi descended to make sure the village was clear of anything useful. It was there they found the swaddled infant Noriko in her house. The shinobi took her, and brough her back to their clan, where she was raised in their ways to be a shinobi from as early as she could understand the words they spoke.
She learned quickly, and by her early teens was already taking missions of all kinds. Her particular talent in stealth earned her the honorific title Sunshadow, a name she would go by for many years. These missions, however, were not the honorable ones of liberation for Doma or the freeing of captives. No, this clan was rogue, independent of the floundering Doman Resistance, and used their skills to gain power and wealth separate of the majority of former Doman citizens. Noriko stole, lied, cheated, and assassinated, for that was all that she knew.

Then came a chance encounter that would change the course of her life forever. A merchant from Eorzea, come to do business, whom she met while on a mission in Hingashi. After noticing her sticking to the shadows of the port, he called her over and the two instantly found comradery. He told her of his homeland, how people were free to make their own life and do as they pleased. This was something Noriko wanted over anything - she had grown tired of the life she led, the acts she committed in the name of her 'family' weighed heavy on her. From that day forward, planning began to help her escape to Eorzea.
Not two months later, the day came. Noriko took on a particularly dangerous mission that day, one which even her own clan feared might bring her demise. But instead of attempting this mission, she met with a group of sailors who stowed her away and left evidence of her death, so that her clan would not suspect what she had actually done. One arduous journey across the sea later, she landed in Limsa Lominsa, and began her new life as a free woman.

It took a little while to adjust, but Noriko enjoyed her new life exactly as much as she had anticipated. She picked up odd jobs here and there, before landing her current work and putting her past life, and skills, behind her. With a newfound confidence in herself, she began her mission to meet as many people as she could, hoping to learn about people's lives and give them companionship that she wished she had in her young years. It was on one of these occasions where she met Senka, one of the few people who could match her enthusiasm to know about others, and the two were inseparable from the moment they met. Now married and settled in Kugane, Noriko finally found the stability and comfort she could have only dreamed of.

From the East: "Ah, you are from Doma? Tell me, what is your life like?" Having come from Doma but never lived there by her own free will, Nori is curious about the happenings of her motherland.

Hi there! I'm Charip (25, he/they), and I've been playing FFXIV since about March of 2023. I fell in love with this game and it's world almost instantly, and it's been a joy to get to know so many people! XIV has been where I really discovered I love character writing and roleplay, so the character you just met someone I tried to put a lot of thought into!
I also do lots of content in this game! If you're looking for someone to run dungeons with or sub in for a raid team, I'm down to help if I have the time! I will also threaten to drag you into UWU, get used to this.
I don't have a very set schedule since I work variable hours which can include overnights. If I'm on, I'm on.
